Prof. Susmita Chakraborty (Rtd Associate professor, Dept. of philosophy, Lanka College)
MEET OUR FOUNDER
Meet Prof. Susmita Chakraborty, a retired Associate Professor from the esteemed Philosophy department at Lanka College. Her visionary spirit led her to establish the remarkable Udeshna A J Manch. Inspired by the blessings of Acharyadev and countless uplifting satsangs, she dreamt of pioneering innovative programs that would extend beyond her duties at the college.
Right from the onset of her career, Prof. Chakraborty immersed herself in making a positive impact on her surrounding areas. One such area is the blossoming land of Borpukhri Bhalukmari, an area currently undergoing development. Its population predominantly comprises of scheduled caste and backward class residents. Recognizing this as an opportunity to practice the age-old adage of “service to man is service to God,” Mrs. Chakraborty believed that this place held immense potential for her philanthropic endeavors.
The institution she established bears the fitting name “Udeshna,” which means “a newborn baby” – a name bestowed upon it by the revered Acharyadev of the Satsang Asram in Deoghar, Jharkhand, India.
