Udeshna A Jagreeti Manch, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Hojai, successfully organized an Awareness Programme on the Evil of Child Marriage at the Bhuragaon Gaon Panchayat Office.
The programme was conducted under the aegis of NALSA with the objective of sensitizing community members about the harmful social, legal, and health consequences of child marriage. The session focused on educating parents, guardians, and local residents about the legal provisions under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act and the importance of ensuring education and a secure future for children.
Distinguished speakers from the District Legal Services Authority addressed the gathering and emphasized the need for collective responsibility in preventing child marriage. They highlighted the availability of free legal aid services and encouraged the community to report and stand against such unlawful practices.
The event witnessed active participation from local residents and community representatives, reflecting a strong commitment toward safeguarding children’s rights and promoting social justice in Hojai.
